Welcome to the new session of the Scottish Hellenic Society.  I hope you will enjoy the talks the Committee has arranged for this session and that you will be able to attend regularly.  Our venue is the Drawing Room, Ground Floor, Glasgow University Union, 32 University Avenue, Glasgow G12 8LX.

The Society’s lecture meetings are as usual held on Tuesdays at 7.30 except for the Opening meeting in October when we normally start at 7.00pm to give us plenty of time for coffee and baklava ahead of the first talk of the session. The AGM in April also begins at 7.00pm. We normally hold a Vasilopitta evening at a Greek taverna in Glasgow in early January close to the Day of Epiphany.

The subscriptions are £12 (full member) and student/unwaged membership are now free but we ask that you consider the subscription as a minimum contribution; any donation in excess will be gratefully received - and acknowledged.

The lecture programme is set out in summary at the sidebar to the left of this page and in detail under the session's tab above.  The January meeting normally takes the form of a social event - a Vasilopitta evening where we will meet at a Greek tavern in Glasgow, cut the New Year cake and enjoy a meal together (details of cost follow nearer the time).

We look forward to seeing you in the coming session.
