Welcome to the new session of the Scottish Hellenic Society.  I hope you will enjoy the talks the Committee has arranged for this session and that you will be able to attend regularly.  Our venue will continue to be at The Greek School of Glasgow, 27 Dundonald Road, Dowanhill, Glasgow G12 9LL (within the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. Luke), with the exception of the musical evening with Alex Kapranos, the venue for which will be advised in January 2016.  Please note that there are no car parking facilities at the School/Cathedral, so parking is in the street.

The Society’s lecture meetings are as usual held on Tuesdays at 7.30 except for the Opening meeting on October 13th when it will be 7:00pm to give us plenty of time for wine and mezedes ahead of Prof Elizabet Moignard’s lecture. The AGM on April 12th will also begin at 7:00pm. We expect to hold the Vasilopitta evening at The Elia Greek Restaurant in Glasgow in early January close to the Day of Epiphany.  As usual, we will cut the New Year cake and enjoy a meal together (details of cost will follow).

The subscriptions for session 2015-2016 are £10 (full member) and student/unwaged membership is now free but we ask that you consider the subscription as a minimum contribution; any donation in excess will be gratefully received - and acknowledged.

A summary of the lecture/events programme is set out on the left hand sidebar.

We look forward to seeing you in the coming session.
